In several roles over the last 20 years, Matt has played a key part in planning and executing business transitions, helping achieve successful adaptations to new processes, systems and structures. Key components included strategic planning, risk management, effective communication and team development. In many cases, innovative new ideas were implemented which helped create an enduring point of difference, increased team motivation and stability and provided better client outcomes.

As an analyst and investor, Matt has had direct access to hundreds of companies. This helps in the understanding of different business models, strategic decisions and risk management, stakeholder engagement and leadership styles.

From 2017 to 2024 while with Ethical Partners, the team had >1,000 meetings with C-Suite executives and boards regarding a broad range of company matters in establishing the investment case. The investment process included environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues which were assessed for materiality and analysed in depth. We have the knowledge and experience to bring together and assist with ESG-oriented outcomes under consideration by senior company executives, specialised company ESG functional teams and investors.

Over the last 15 years, Matt has extensive experience in understanding governance, risk, strategy and overall dynamics of Boards and Committees in a global context across for-profit and not-for-profit organisations. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
